A favor?

The best way to dust off the writing brainmeats is to make yourself do it. With that in mind, I signed up for a challenge.

As no one there is likely to understand any of it, I invite you guys to give me hell.

Not here to give you hell Rachel. I liked your story...okay, up to the ending, which is because of my incurable preference for happy endings, but the story itself was well done. Nicely written, in an easy to read tone, played nicely with the elements from all three games and conjured up a picture of both after a few years. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed it. Thought it was well written and nice to have some time put between them. Most of what I've read is usually RIGHT after or during the games so it was a nice touch.

Thanks, guys.

I really need to learn how to take a compliment. All I can see are flaws.

I totally enjoyed it! Of course as I knew the characters and their history it was extra enjoyable.

I think it was well written...and I also liked the time span (Gabe on the other side of 40) and still the handsome devil

I will have to disagree with Michael on the happy ending (although I do enjoy them also...and prefer them myself) this ending seemed to fit with the tone of the story.

Hmmm..only flaw I imagine to see is...oi, what you got against blue-haired women? That'll be ME in a few years time, since I am sitting on top of 40 err..

I find the ending you gave it best fitting; Why is this not seen as a happy ending though? Love does change over a span of so many years; we all know that so why not let it into fiction? Rachel, and aye.. you really need to learn how to take a compliment.

Or write something that's totally crap indeed, I dare ya (same lenght please cuz thát size I can handle with tired eyes!)

Gripe at me when you're over ninety.

Thanks Ellen, Dianne. I think signing up for challenges might be the only way to force myself to write, right now. Maybe if I get in the habit I can graduate to grown up writing and rival David by doing my own stuff. Or at least get in practice enough to help him with some of the fiddly bits of his work.

I imagine I'll sign up for this when it next rolls around. I'll have to smuggle in some fandoms that are pretty common, though, so I'll have a chance of getting responses from people who don't know me or care about my feelings.

Seriously, if you've got time, flip through the site. Some of them are positively cracktastic, like this one, featuring Discworld's Granny Weatherwax and the Sephlets from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Okay...I'm going to go poking around...but you will have to explain to your husband why I'm doing this instead of reading DaCrowe's Opus...

No, no, no! When there's an option, read the Crowe-pus.

When you have ten minutes to kill online, then you can poke around the silly fanfiction.

It's kind of meh, but I figured I may as well link over to the one piece of GK fic I managed for 0TP. As an aside, I highly recommend Metanoia; the art starts off a little iffy, but it gets better—and the story doesn't stay quite as dark as it starts, I promise.

Okay, I liked it. Got no idea what Metanoia is, to be honest, but I loved the way you depicted Grace. Plus, it's nice to read a little new bit about any GK figure. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, Metanoia's a complete trip. It's all about Star Tyrian—former prostitute and sociopathic hitman—who decides to get out the the murder-for-hire biz, and the angels who hire him. There's all kinds of messed up stuff about Star's first love, Jaime; trippy, technicolor dreams of old gods; an incubus crime lord and his immortal pigeon (great for taking out your frustrations!); and heartbreak and snarky good humor.

Alright, I've signed up for 0TP again with a couple of different character sets, and I've seriously got an amazing prompt for Gabriel and Grace: Gabriel and Grace, “Sure it’s illegal. That’s what makes it fun.” I'm going to have to come up with something for that, because that's too awesome not to use.

The other thing I've done is sign up for Kink Bingo, (see card below). I've got an idea I'm trying to hammer out for the mind control square, but that means I need to either make a line with silence, fucking machines, confined/caged, and service, or pervertibles, body alteration/injury, shaving/depilitation, and mechanical/technological.

(I signed up, by the way, because it's a good exercise to force me to write things that don't flow naturally.)

I'm leaning to the horizontal line, because pervertibles is an easy one (any kind of regular object used for sexual purposes), and I can use Vagrant Story as an excellent fandom for body alteration (Sydney's arms are a kink unto themselves), but that leaves me floundering for the last two. Anybody have a decent idea I could make off with?

Well, much as it gives a glimpse into a corner of my mind I usually don't air out, but getting a connection between "mechanical/technological", "shaving (implement)", "pervertibles" and "injury" is not really that hard to draw. You only need to think about what some desperate guys tried with their vaccuum cleaner socket, switch that to the modern three-headed electrical razors and whatever orifice you want your main character to bleed out of, and go nuts.

Although in my eyes, that'd more qualify as torture scene.

Er, no. Separate stories for each square, for a total of five.

I'm thinking Fullmetal Alchemist for the tech one, since the mod approved magitek. I'm thinking anime-verse Dante perving on how well she made her homunculi.

*looks mighty * Wish I could help but.. totally lacking English for this it seems! (I don't get what you're asking for, sorry) Good luck none the less!

Having said that I did end up reading your "Stains". Nice one.

Aw, thanks.

Basically I'm asking for ideas. I'm trying to write stories that match up with the bingo card, and I'm struggling for what to write about.

I'm about halfway done with the mind control square (>4,600 words for the set-up so I can finally get to the mind control part of things! ), so I'll link that up for an example when I can.

3/5 completed!

Found Wanting, for mind control/amnesia
Prudens, for body alteration/injury
Spirit Orison, for shaving/depilation

Heed the warnings at the top of each. I mean it.
