There..*cleans off scalpel*...all in its own thread now.

And I have to admit...if anything kept me from GKA recently, it's been Buffy. Man, this show really IS captivating, even though all the ingredients for 110% cheese are in there. But Joss Whedon is too good a cook to produce anything even remotely cheesy. Even the mushy scenes are good. No wonder the show was so damn popular back then!

Although..I don't mind having missed the rush. Makes me enjoy it now just that little bit more, if that makes sense.

Sorry (no I'm not), but no, I don't see the resemblance
I've got more hair, smaller nose etc. You just said that to provoke me into writing a reply, didn't you?

Agreed
Some directors/TV shows try so hard to press ones buttons but miss them completely (Steven Spielberg a lot of times), but Whedon/Buffy finds mine.

No, I didn't but frell if I mind you writing replies!
Joss is older then you as well.. and I never did a close up on your nose Fred! Bet you wouldn't mind your bank account resembling Joss's!
Thought it a funny very vague resemblance, like Michael and his God Jim Butcher. No insult intended anyway!

The ONLY thing that keeps getting on my ear-nerves is that hideous loud wet sucking kissing sounds (like something is stuck in a swamp) each and every time some kissing is done! There Whedon manages to press a button in me that makes me go AAAAAAAAARGHHHH!

Ditto. A good author/director knows that the best way to get the audience to feel along with the characters is to let the emotions flow when they'd naturally flow, and doesn't try to create artificial emotional scenes for the hell of it. Whedon does/did a good job in my opinion.

Well, luckily the major source for that is gone now...Buffy and Angel are not an issue right now, and Xander and Cordelia are out of the closet...and surprise, their smoochies stopped being rabid and desperate. And loud.

*dreads the return of the Smoochies* Earplugs, anybody?

I watched a trailer for Buffy on TV today, and I thought to myself "Hmmm... I wonder if Michael has finished watching it yet?" Well, now I know
I've read 10 issues or so of the "season 8" comic book series. It's not bad but I prefer to see it on TV.

"Done" long before Michael and yes.. "Bored now." (Nah, kidding, just love to use that quote) After the last episode it was finished for me for good, again. Don't have the urge to go read the comics that were made afterwards.
Had my fill now for some time.. but will keep them seasons for over another few years! If only to look at the teen world pre-cell phone wise

I probably wouldn't look twice at the comics either, if Joss Whedon and other writers of the TV show wasn't writing them too.

I was tempted to buy the Buffy DVD collection on a sale the other day, or if one should buy another USB drive instead

Ah! But still.. as you I prefer to watch it on TV but.. maybe for another time when I am REALLY bored

I'd buy the collection if it be a super-sale.. however I think it'll rather be another USB drive in your case too!

Well, I got the comics, and I have to say...they still ARE Buffy, but damn, they get really waHOOOO-ey after a while. With the authors and Whedon himself not being constrained by SFX budget anymore, they're really breaking the weirdness barrier on the stories.

And yet, I can hear the voices in my head, saying the lines, and see the scenes played out by the actors. Even though the artwork is not as top-notch as the series might deserve, it's still good, and conveys the essential Buffy-ness of the stories well.

I'd grab the USB drive...stick a Buffy motif on it, and make it the home of my Buffy Collection Backup.
